Tim Cazier of DRMS contacted
me on that date about the complaint and requested a joint inspection. In the meantime, he got di-
rections to the site from the complainant.
The South Park R.D. received an NO1 on August 26, 2013 from Richard Bolen to conduct hand work
on his unpatented mining claims (Blue Hills, Blue Canyon, Blue Water, and Blue Spring). A map at-
tached to the NOI indicated that the route into the claims is closed to motorized use. Mr. Bolen put
that he was traveling to his claims via vehicle and foot, but nothing specific about this route. A re-
sponse letter was sent to Mr. Bolen on August 29, 2013 from the South Park R.D. accepting his NOI,
but with the provision that if he was using the route for motorized access, that he would need a Plan
of Operations for his authorization to use the route.
On September 4, 2013, Mr. Cazier and I were able to meet and we found our way to the site in ques-
tion. It wasn't until we say the claim postings, that I realized it was Mr. Richard Bolen's claims in
question. Needless to say, Mr. Bolen's NO1 did not describe the level of activity seen on the site.
Mr. Bolen was not present at the time we were there, which was approximately 1500. It was appar-
ent he had been there recently, though.
The total area of disturbance was measured at
0.32 acres.
• Zi
l Wood pile northwest on the site.
