Ms. Angela Bellantoni
June 9,2014
Page 5
Ground water monitoring points—water quality
Collect water quality samples from the well using either a bailer or submersible pump. Submit samples to
laboratory for analysis of the parameters shown in Table 2. We suggest the collection of water quality on
a quarterly basis in order to characterize seasonal water quality fluctuations.
Surface water monitoring_points—water quantity
Make observations of surface flow rates on a monthly basis. If the channel is dry, note and record the
observation. If feasible, measure discharge rate by placing a container of known volume under the
discharge point and measure the time taken to fill the container in order to measure the flow rate. If this is
not feasible, then estimate flow rates based on visual observations. We suggest visiting the monitoring
points on a monthly basis.
Surface water monitoring points—water quality
Collect water quality samples from the monitoring discharge point. Submit samples to laboratory for
analysis of the parameters shown in Table 1. We suggest collecting samples on a quarterly basis to the
extent that there is flow in the drainages at the time of the field visit. The monthly visits will increase the
chances that surface flow is present at the time of the field visit and that water is present and available for
sampling. This approach may result in a surface water sample being collected at a different time than a
ground water sample. To the extent practical, we suggest collecting a ground water sample at the same
time as a surface water sample, but the frequency of samples should not be more than once per three
month period.
If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call. We are available to support the
implementation of these monitoring points and the monitoring program, if needed.
Very truly yours,
BISHOP-BROGDEN ASSOCIATES,INC.
a1; 4ut4l
Christopher J.
