I sent him a picture of the plants in question. He feels it's a late blooming field
pennycress but he will check it out later in the season when the seeds are formed for a definitive identification. If
it is by chance whitetop, Paul says treatment is not really effective at this time. Fall and early spring are the
best times to control it.
Brock
On Thu, Jun 12, 2014 at 2:39 PM, lowellinman <Iinman e castletonranch.net> wrote:
Brock, I visited with my weed guy this morning. I would like for you to call him and visit with him also. His
name is Paul Schreiner 970 - 433 -5350. He is the one that treats the mine for us. Other mine operators use
Escort or 2,4 -D. For the best advice on whitetop control (and other weeds) in your area, I suggest you
contact the Gunnison County weed coordinator, John Mugglestone. The Colorado State Extension
Service will also be a good source of information.
If you have any additional questions or comments, please contact me.
https: / /mai l.g oog le.conVmai 1 /u /0 / ?ui =2 &i k=e29129fcb5 &iev-- pt &search =i nboy&th =14691 e4c9df7e86a &si ml =14691 e4c9df7e86a 1/2
