June 10, 2014 C- 1981 - 019 /Colowyo Coal Mine RDZ <br />In the East Pit, some rills were seen south of the Final East Pit Ditch near the transition between reclamation and <br />areas that have not been reclaimed. Overall, the vegetation growth in the newer East Pit reclamation area appears <br />to be very good. <br />The West Pit reclamation area was viewed from the haul road near the West Pit "overlook." No gullies or other <br />problems were identified. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />No problems were seen at the main facility area. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS — Rule 4.02: <br />A sign for the buffer zone beside the West Pit Pond (along Taylor Creek) was in place. <br />Along CR51, where blasts are monitored, a permit sign and a blasting sign are in place. <br />SPECIAL CATEGORIES OF MINING — Rules 4.22 through 4.27: <br />The high wall mining in South Taylor Pit was inspected in the office of Tony Tennyson. Via computer, <br />the CAD file with Map 23A (Mine Plan — South Taylor) was compared to the CAD file with the as -mined holes of <br />high wall mining. All 113 holes in this pit were within the parcel on the plan view map that indicates the approved <br />horizontal extent of mining. <br />TOPSOIL — Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />Topsoil stockpile 15A was observed from the Work Area Pond.
