Notes for site visit week of June 5, 2014:
Site visits occurred on Monday June 2 and Thursday June 5. Overall, both
gob piles looked good. Coverfill was being hauled to the west half of gob
pile #4. Gob was being hauled to the top of gob pile #2.
Maintenance has been performed on a number of ditches and culverts,
•Ditch J8 -1 has been regraded
•Ditch J3 — Rocks have been removed
•Culvert J4— Inlet had been cleaned
•Culvert J8 —The inlet has been cleaned
•Ditch F19 —Gob was regraded. Coverfill is now in place.
•Ditch F20 — Work was occurring (June 5) to get the ditch to drain. Coverfill
has been placed on the upper two benches of gob pile #4, west half. In the
interim stage, water will drain, but Ditches F19 and F20 are not yet to final
grade.
•Ditch F14 — Work was underway to re -grade and replace riprap that had
been washed out after the monsoonal flood that occurred last summer.
-Remnants of silt fence along the haul road, east of Pond D and near Pond F
have been removed.
As discussed in DRMS' inspection report on May 21, 2014;
There is an un -named culvert above Culvert K2. A field inspection and
research in the office indicates that the culvert originates on the Terror
Creek Loadout's site. However, the drainage area has been included in the
design of culvert K2.
Runoff from washing down of Bowie Road drains into an unnamed culvert
that crosses the Fire Mountain Canal. A technical revision will be submitted
that names the culvert across the Fire Mountain canal, and provides for a
design of a rip rap channel or half culvert that will drain into Ditch J8 -1.
During the next few site inspections, SAE's will be inspected. The purpose
will be to have the ground conditions match the permitted conditions. In
addition, maintenance will occur where necessary.
At some point in the near future, work at the TR -76 combination area will
begin. As gob is brought up to grade, it will be keyed into gob pile #4 in
order to achieve compaction.
At gob pile #3 topsoil salvage will occur north and west of the east coverfill
stockpile.
