Minrec, Incorporated Water Quality Assessment CO- 0048233 <br />evaluation of federal effluent limitation guidelines, implementation of state -based technology based <br />limits, mixing zone analyses, 303(d) listings, threatened and endangered species listing, or other <br />requirements as discussed in the permit rationale. Figure A -1 contains a map of the study area <br />evaluated as part of this WQA. <br />FIGURE A -1 <br />The Minrec North Thompson Creek Mine site is a reclaimed underground coal mine with remaining <br />passive settling pond treatment for a perpetual mine drainage discharge to North Thompson Creek. North <br />Thompson Creek is in the Water Body Identification (WBID) stream segment COUCRF10. This means <br />the Upper Colorado Basin, Roaring Fork Sub - basin, Stream Segment 10. This segment is composed of <br />the "Mainstem of Thompson Creek including all tributaries and wetlands from the source to the confluence <br />with the Crystal River ". Stream segment COUCRF 10 is classified for Cold Class 1, Recreation Class E, <br />Water Supply, and Agriculture. <br />Information used in this assessment includes data gathered from the Minrec facility, the Division, the <br />Colorado Division of Water Resources (DWR), the local water commissioner, and the U.S. Geological <br />Survey (USGS).
