1.4 Well Inventory
A well inventory for areas surrounding the Three Bells Property was conducted to identify
registered wells within 600 feet as required by the Colorado Office of the State Engineer(SEO).
GEI identified one domestic well within 600 feet of the Three Bells Property. The well is
identified below:
Permit No. —251842
Owner—Justin and Kate Green
6324 Larimer County Road 1
Windsor, CO 80550
Location—NW 1/ Sec., NE '/ Sec., Section 13, T6N R68W
The SEO requires a 600-foot well spacing agreement with well owners who have wells within
the 600-foot buffer zone. GEI will submit the well agreement on behalf of MMM to the owners
of the above mentioned well upon notification from the DRMS that the M-1979-191 112 permit
amendment application is complete.
Mining and reclamation at the Three Bells Mine is not anticipated to have adverse effects on the
well because the stated well depth is 200 feet, indicating that the screened interval is significantly
deeper than the shallow alluvial aquifer(approximately 12 to 22 feet) impacted by mining at the
Three Bells Property.
1.5 Monitoring and Mitigation
There are currently no monitoring wells monitored by MMM in and around the Three Bells
Property. There are several monitoring wells that were installed during the design phase of the
Ditullio Property to assist in data gathering for design and mine planning. Continued
monitoring of these wells for the purpose of this Groundwater Monitoring and Mitigation Plan is
not required by the DRMS.
Should MMM receive notification of adverse groundwater conditions or a complaint from the
well owner, MMM will notify the DRMS and propose mitigation measures. Mitigation
measures may include the following:
• Investigation of the notification/complaint to establish parameters and to determine if
MMM mining operations are the sole cause or contributing to the adverse groundwater
conditions. This measure may include the installation of monitoring wells at strategic
locations to assist in data gathering.
• If MMM mining operations are determined to not be the sole cause, MMM will consult
with the DRMS on further actions, but will not provide any further mitigation measures.
