In response to our May
27, 2014 email request, we are in receipt of supplemental materials submitted by Alex Wesson, Project
Manager /Senior Archaeologist at SWCA Environmental Consultants. We sincerely appreciate your prompt attention
to our information request.
After review of the documentation provided, we concur that isolated find 5LP10542 is not eligible for the listing to
the National Register of Historic Places. Consequently, we believe that a finding of no historic properties affected is
appropriate for the proposed exploration drilling activities pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1).
The Section 106 consultation process does involve other consulting parties such as local governments and Tribes,
which as stipulated in 36 CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information provided
by the local government, Tribes or other consulting parties may cause our office to re- evaluate our comments and
recommendations.
If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be
interrupted until the resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places eligibility
criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation with our office.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
