1.0 Purpose:
A plan to implement erosion control and maintenance on various historic waste dump
sites during site exploration and reclamation operations and to satisfy the requirements of
the Colorado Department of Human Health and Environment, Water Quality Control
Division, Stormwater Permit requirements.
2.0 Responsibility:
New West Reclamation, LLC.
P.O. Box 1798
Leadville, CO 80461
Phone: 303 - 681 — 9344
FAX: 303 - 681 — 2117
3.0 Procedures:
Stormwater management for this Project shall be performed in compliance with the
Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), Colorado Discharge
Permitting System - Stormwater Construction Permit (CDPS -SCP) and the Stormwater
Management Plan (SWMP).
Installation of Best Management Practices (BMP) shall be completed by New West
Reclamation, LLC., (Operator). A site sampling sequence will consist of the following steps:
1) Identify a sample site on the historic waste dump.
2) Determine the method of excavation necessary to obtain ore samples from the
sample location.
3) Install the tarp or other suitable material for placement of excavated material.
(Surface barrier material would not be used for hand or auger samples, but would
be used for sampling using a backhoe.)
4) Excavate material from sample site location.
5) Obtain sample(s).
6) Replace excavated material and tamp/blend the surface into the adjacent waste
dump surface.
7) Place and secure burlap or other suitable material on to the surface of the waste
dump sample site location.
