COLORADO DIVISION OF WILDLIFE MINED LAND WILDLIFE STATEM ENT/EVALUATI ON for limited impact and select regular mine applications The following information pertaining to wildlife is provided for use by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology in their consideration of a mining permit for: 1. Wildlife Species list: -3 There are several hundred vertebrate wildlife species known to occur in Logan County. However, his particular site provides suitable habitat for very few species due ai! to the impacts from historic mining operations. Some of the wildlife species that would most likely O i be found on the site or in the surrounding vicinity would include: Mule Deer, White-tailed Deer, "6R.La Black-tailed Jackrabbit, Coyote, Striped Skunk, Raccoon, Horned Lark, Western Kingbird, mN;� Western Meadowlark , Mourning Dove, Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, Bull Snake, Plains 5 Garter Snake, and Western Box Turtle. A Am 4 N Om� mtlE 4. Endangered/critical species impacted: �N= 00E= .+qq There are no known State or Federal endangered or threatened �aa species inhabiting the project area. 5. Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted: The site has no significant habitat values or plant communities. Plant species found on the site are mostly annual weeds as a result of soil disturbance from mining activities. 6. Assessment of impact: Impacts to native wildlife populations will be minimal to none. During the mining operations some individuals may be displaced temporarily from the area due to disturbance from equipment and increased human activities. With proper reclamation of the site, long-term impacts should be insignificant. 7. Mine Reclamation recommendations : Re-grade the site to blend in with existing topography and reseed
