Welt <br />Environmental Engineer III <br />kwel!@archcoal.com <br />Phone: 970 929 2238 <br />Re: Mountain Coal Company, LLC, West Elk Mine, Permit No. C -1980 -007, <br />Technical Revision No. TR -134, Revised Longwall Panel E6 MDW Pad Locations <br />Dear Mr. Stark: <br />Mountain Coal Company, LLC (MCC) submits the attached application form, proposed <br />public notice, and map in application of Technical Revision No. TR -134 to revise the location <br />of two methane drainage well (MDW) pads located at the east end of longwall panel €6. <br />MCC and Forest Service (FS) personnel recently conducted field reviews of the two pad <br />locations previously approved in PR -14 for MDWs E6 -69 (now E6 -1), €6 -67.5 (now E6 -2), <br />E6 -66.5 (now E6 ®3) and E6-63 (now E6-4) and determined that these two locations <br />should be shifted approximately 400' to the west to lessen disturbance. There are no <br />changes proposed in the previously approved road alignment. <br />The new locations were evaluated by the FS to identify any previously undocumented <br />cultural resources, T &E species and other resources of special interest.
