The site for the west expansion to gob pile #2 (TR -72) will initially be cleared of
trees and heavy brush. Then, it is estimated approximately 4,100 cubic yards of
topsoil and approximately 60,900 cubic yards of coverfill material will be
salvaged. The salvaged topsoil and coverfill material may not be stockpiled, but
will likely be used to for reclamation of gob pile #2.
The area for the west and north expansion of gob pile #2 (TR -76) will initially be
cleared of trees and heavy brush. Then, if topsoil is available, approximately 11,810
cubic yards and approximately 29,600 cubic yards of coverfill material will be
salvaged. The salvaged topsoil and coverfill material may not be stockpiled, but will
likely be used to for reclamation of gob pile #2. A topsoil variance was approved
with TR -76 and allows for a variance from topsoil removal in areas that are too
steep (slopes exceeding 2HA V), where the topsoil is too thin (less than three
inches), or where the material is too rocky. This request is specifically for the
planned disturbance associated with the expansion of Gob Pile #2. However, if
topsoil is available it will be salvaged.
TR -76 - 7 - 05/13
