0 2.05.6(6)
The Operator has set up a subsidence network over the first five B -Seam
longwall panels to gain as much information as possible to compare actual
data with the subsidence predictions presented in Volume I IIA, Exhibits15, 17
and 21. Additionally, the actual subsidence data will be utilized to check the
design and effectiveness of limited extraction zones.
At the request of the DRMS and UDSA -FS the Operator installed eight
subsidence monuments in the limited extraction zone along Hubbard Creek
(monuments 17 -A through 17 -H). These monuments will be utilized to verify
that subsidence does not occur along the limited extraction zone. Six of the
monuments were installed during 2001 prior to the November 2002 longwall
start-up in panel D -7. Two of the monuments 17 -G & 17 -H will be installed in
2009 prior to the initiation of mining in Panel B -9. At the request of the
DRMS the Operator has identified twenty (20) subsidence monuments to
measure settlement over superimposed multi -seam extraction as follows:
:Line
:A
1B
:C
eD
E
F G;
24
rX
YX
YX rX .
.25
.X
.X
.X
X
.X
.X
.26
.X
_X
.X
X
.X.XX.
27
X
X
X
The above multi -seam subsidence monuments will have pre - longwall mining
base line measurements, post D Seam longwall mining measurements and
post B Seam longwall mining measurements.
At the request of the USDA -FS, the Operator will monitor the topographic
surface, soil and vegetation through interpretation of color aerial
photographs. The portion of the Iron Point Lease managed by the USDA -FS
was photographed on October 16, 2001 and again on October 13, 2006. The
area will then be photographed in five year intervals. A set of the
photographs will be supplied to the Forest Service and any changes to the
topographic surface, soil or vegetation will be noted. Field investigation of
changes may be required. Mitigation measures, if required, will be
0 PR -12 2.05-155- 02/10
A PPRoV ED
