May 14, 2014 C- 2009 - 087 /Peabody Sage Creek Mine MPB <br />Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The main reclaimed haul road into the permit area was in good condition and well graded. The access road to <br />Pond 004 was muddy and rutted in places but accessible to Pond 004. The upper access road was in good <br />condition. Culvert 62A located along the upper access road will require maintenance. The recent storm event has <br />deposited rock and debris at the inlet and discharge end of the culvert. Also the riprap channel above the inlet <br />sustained minor damage and the liner is exposed above the culvert. To ensure compliance, please maintain the <br />culvert and the drainage channel and perform the necessary repairs. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3: <br />Overall the reclaimed areas of the mine site looked good with no significant erosion or instability problems <br />identified. Vegetation is well established throughput the majority of the mine site and it is beginning to green up. <br />SUPPORT FACILITIES - Rule 4.04: <br />Various support facilities including the former shop and warehouse areas and the Sage Creek Portals were viewed. <br />Perimeter areas at these locations were maintained, and no problems were noted at any of the various support <br />facilities during this inspection. <br />DOCUMENTS RECEIVED None <br />OTHER (SPECIFY) <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 8 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 3 <br />Page 3 of 6 <br />
