Limited - Results Archaeological Survey Form (Page 2 of 11)
documented cultural resources in the area of potential affect (APE). As such, a finding of no
historic properties affected is recommended for the project.
II. DESCRIPTION OF UNDERTAKING / PROJECT
10. Type of Undertaking: Construction of eleven borehole pads, measuring 200 x 200 ft in size or
less. For the four surveved bore holes. there will be approximately 3.328 feet (0.6 mile) of new
access roads, and 4.1 miles of existing two -track roads that will require upgrade. The specific
mileage of planned access for the other seven bore holes is unknown; but will fall within areas
Previously surveyed for cultural resources. The bore holes are located most closely to County
Road 33 to the south, but Twentymile will be accessing them from the west side of the project
area where a bladed road meets County Road 27. The existing roads to the south of the project
area were not inventoried for cultural resources based on this construction plan.
11. Size of Undertaking (acres): 12.1 Size of Project (if different) 62.1 acres (inventoried)
12. Nature of the Anticipated Disturbance: Construction of eleven cement borehole pads
approximately 200 x 200 feet in size or less, and 4.7 miles of known access road. The borehole
pads will contain diversion ditches and topsoil stockpiles. Each of the four surveyed bore holes
will have a short new access road built to them that takes off from existing two -track roads.
These roads will be approximately 50 feet wide or less. The existing two -track roads will require
some updgrades (blading and widening) to accommodate drill rigs. The existing two -track roads
connect to improved bladed roads that are well - traveled and will not require any new
construction.
13. Comments:
III. PROJECT LOCATION
Please attach a photocopy of USGS Quad clearly showing the project location. The Quad should be
clearly labeled with the Prime Meridian, Township, Range, Section(s), Quad map name, size, and
date. Please do not reduce or enlarge the photocopy.
14. Description: The project area is located approximately twelve miles northwest of Oak Creek off of
Routt County Road 33 on private surface within Twentymile Coal's Foidel Creek Mine lease area.
Coal ownership in the project area is State of Colorado and private.
15. Legal Location: Quad. Map: Milner (1973) and Rattlesnake Butte (1973)
