Remarks:
Connell Resources, hic. or their representatives have previously been in contact with your utility
regarding the proposed Connell Carr Pit (see Vicinity Map). Connell Resources, Inc. is in the process
of obtaining a Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) permit for the mining of
aggregate materials in Weld County. The mining will include excavation to maximum depths of
about 25 feet below the ground surface and reclamation will involve grading and revegetation to create
stable slopes for rangeland.
As part of the DRMS permitting, the Connell Resources has identified permanent man -made structures
owned by Platte River Power Authority within or adjacent to the project (see Pre- Mining/Mining Plan
Map). To protect your interests in the structure, Connell Resources is offering an agreement that
provides Platte River Power Authority compensation for structure damage. A signed and notarized
agreement is attached.
Mine planning has established appropriate setbacks from mining excavations to adjacent structures,
including those owned by Platte River Power Authority (including the requested 50 -foot setback from
your easement), and Connell Resources does not anticipate any structure damages. However, to ensure
your interests are protected, we request that you please consider the Structure Agreement enclosed.
If you choose to complete the Structure Agreement, please have a representative of your organization
sign and return a copy of the agreement to us for our records. Please call me at (970) 227 -2803 with
