5/5/2014 State.co.us Executive Branch Mail - Fwd: Bowie No. 2 Mine C1996083 MR150- Adequacy Review
Burgmaier - DNR, Susan <susan.burgmaier @state.co.us> Fri, May 2, 2014 at 3:47 PM
To: aetter @bowieresources.com, Bill Bear <BBear @bowieresources.com >, Jim Stover <jestover @bresnan.net>
Cc: Alysha Hernandez - DNR <alysha.hernandez @state.co.us>
Gentlemen - Please see the additional comments and request for information from CPW. Please provide DRMS
with a map showing the proposed location of the flume. Please also provide DRMS with an estimate of the time
that BRL will require for in- stream work. I will then forward the information to CPW.
Based on the information that Jim provided to the USFS, it looks like you are proposing to install just one flume.
Is that correct? The MR application indicated that there may be two installations.
Susan L. Burgmaier
Coat Regulatory Program
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO *.
Susan-
We have been evaluating and discussing this request. So you know, this strain of cutthroat trout is listed under
the Endangered Species Act, and given the federal nexus a with a Army Corps permit a Section 7 Consultation
with the USFWS maybe required.
Can you send us the location of these structures, so we determine where in the watershed the impacts to
cutthroats may occur. In addition, can you provide and estimate of how long in stream construction activities
would occur during between June 1 and June 15?
Thanks,
Brian
https: / /mai l.g oog le.conVmai 1 /u /0 / ?ui =2 &i Ire29129fcb5 &view = pt &search =i nbox&th= 145bee9205cc3527 &si ml= 145bee9205cc3527 1/4
