Compliance With Mine Plan <br />N - Support Facilities Not On -site <br />N - Other <br />N - Special Categories Of Mining <br />N - Processing Waste <br />N - Topsoil <br />COMMENTS <br />This was a complete inspection of the Sunlight Mine conducted by Brock Bowles of the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining and Safety. The permit for this mine was revoked and the bond was forfeited. The <br />reclamation was completed by the Division. Weather conditions during the inspection were mostly sunny and <br />cool. The minesite was dry and the vegetation was starting to bloom. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING — Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br />The upper portal area appears to be stable. There were no signs of cracking or slumping (photo 1). <br />The lower portal /fansite area that was excavated last year to repair the collapsed adit appeared to be stable. The <br />snow had melted and the soil was moist. There were no signs of rills or gullies (photo 2). The disturbance <br />perimeter created by the adit repair was mapped with a GPS and calculated to be 0.0430 acres or 1.66% of the <br />total disturbed area. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.053; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage — Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />The Four Mile Creek was flowing faster than normal most likely due to snowmelt (photo 3). The upper <br />diversion ditch was still blocked by soil falling from the hillside. This condition has been reported in previous <br />inspection reports (3/2012 and 10/2011). <br />REVEGETATION — Rule 4.15 <br />Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br />The trees, grasses and forbs were just starting to bloom throughout the mine site.
