The fill
material was compacted per the requirements of the UP. Cut and fill slopes were seeded with the pastureland seed
mixture to stabilize the slopes until they are reclaimed.
After the cut and fill work was completed, approximately 200 CY of pit-run gravel was hauled in and used for
roadbed. The tie and rails were laid, and approximately 200 CY of ballast was placed to anchor the ties. A
deadman or berm was constructed at the end of the extension. Runoff from the site was intercepted by a silt fence
during construction, the area was revegetated, and a ditch cut was established around the topsoil stockpile to direct
any runoff from it into the silt fence.
When the railroad spur is no longer needed, the original track and extension will be removed and the area
reclaimed. Specifically for the extension, the ties and rail will be removed and then the fill material will be used to
backfill the cut areas. The combined 400 CY of the ballast and pit-run gravel will also be used as back&11. The
following pazagraph applies to the extension of the railroad behind Pinnacle Peak.

TR06-53 2.OS-36 06/20/06
