Flatirons, Inc. — Surveying & Engineering
TSF Water Levels
The ultimate water level in the TSF will have a minimum freeboard of 3.0 feet. The top of
the TSF embankment is at an elevation of 9723.0, so the ultimate level of the material in
the TSF is 9720.0. The runoff from Basin A is conveyed to the TSF, and the TSF has to
maintain excess capacity at least equal to the 10 -year, 24 -hour runoff volume. The volume
of runoff for the design storm to the TSF amounts to 11,944 cubic feet. The table below
indicates if the maximum elevation of material in the TSF is left 3- inches low, there will be
adequate capacity to store the 10 -year, 24 -hour runoff and maintain at least three feet of
freeboard. The complete TSF stage storage spreadsheet is in Appendix B
TSF Stage Storage Table
Elevation
Area at Elevation
(sf)
Volume Below Stage
W)
Comments
9718
54,201
857,855
9719
56,136
913,024
9719.75
57,584
955,668
958,199 is max target volume
9720
58,103
970,143
Table 4
Union Mill 13 March 5, 2014
