has begun construction, and in some instances even completed construction of infrastructure still
under concern and review. In both letters, a meeting was requested as soon as possible among
all parties so that clear communication and resolution could be achieved.
Reclamation is responsible for stewardship of the waters and infrastructure of the Animas -La
Plata Project. Reclamation holds this stewardship responsibility in high priority. However, it is
tempered with the understanding that no perfect solution is possible, but the best efforts of all
parties are necessary to find the best protective yet feasible functional solution. Reclamation
once again reiterates the desire to work in good faith with all parties involved to find such
solutions and believes that a meeting as soon as possible would be the most successful venue to
achieve that goal.
Reclamation maintains the position that our concerns have not been addressed. This includes
concerns related to the original proposal, the unpermitted construction, and the technical
revision.
