112c annual report
Summary 2013
Krauthco Inc.
Permit #2011 -004
J &J Stone Pit #1
Anniversary date 05/23/14
The affected and disturbed areas have not increased from 2012. Mining continues in the upper
and lower shaded portions ( attached map). No species of identified noxious or harmful plants
are evident.
The reclaimed areas, in the lower pit, are showing growth of native grasses. These areas were
released from reclamation, in the 90's, by the division, under a previous operator. The rains,
last year, caused some erosion, in those areas and we repaired them. This would be the kim-
shingle compex area, with 3 -20% slopes, with vegetation consistent with short grasses
dominated by blue grama.
Current disturbances are within the existing affected areas, by simple breaking and removal of
slabbed stone and debris. The material is then sized and removed from the mining locations.
There is currently no monitoring required, at this site. The reclamation plan consists of exposed
benching as mining is conducted. No additional anticipated disturbances are forecast.
As this mine has an intermittent status, start and stop dates in 2013 are sporadic and likely in
2014. With an average of one to two weeks of production and then a month or two of ceased
operations.
Regards,
Mike Krauth Jr. /owner- operator
Krauthco
719 - 371 -1678
