Oakridge Energy reapplied for termination of the remaining Health Department permit on
August 8, 2011. Ms. Leslie Simpson of CDPHE indicated in a telephone conversation
with Savage and Savage, Inc. that permit COG 850042 had been terminated. As CDPHE
had not provided written confirmation of the termination, the termination request was
resubmitted on February 10, 2014.
SEDIMENT POND DISCHARGES
The Carbon Junction Mine had two sediment ponds, 001 and 002. Both have been
reclaimed and were Phase II released by Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board
findings for SL -04.
2013 MINE SITE WORK (HYDROLOGIC)
In late summer 2013, re- working of the upper segment of the Carbon Junction Canyon
channel below the former North Pit was undertaken. This work involved regrading the
Carbon Junction Canyon channel and a secondary side drainage that had eroded.
Subsequent to the regrading, both channels were armored with durable rock riprap, top
dressed, and seeded.
Carbon Junction Mine Page 2
Annual Hydrologic Report for Water Year 2013
