SECTION 2821 <br />REVEGETATION <br />(12 -08 RC) <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.1 DESCRIPTION <br />A. Work included: This specification shall govern the work associated with the revegetation of all <br />areas disturbed by the Contractor, both on and off site, and not scheduled for revegetative <br />treatment in plans or specifications by others. Revegetation shall include application of native or <br />lawn seed, fertilizer, mulch, and crimping or otherwise anchoring of the mulch in place. The <br />respreading of topsoil to the directed depth on disturbed areas to be reseeded and preparation of <br />topsoil for seeding (tracking, tilling, etc. as necessary) shall also be included in this specification if <br />not found elsewhere. All work within public right -of -ways shall be completed in accordance with <br />required permitting, signage, and traffic control. <br />B. Related Work described elsewhere: Special Provisions <br />Section 1567, Erosion and Sediment Control <br />C. See architectural and landscape plans and specifications for related work not specified herein. <br />SUBMITTALS <br />A. Seed and Fertilizer: The Contractor shall submit the seed and fertilizer mix proposed for use on <br />the project for approval prior to application. All fertilizer shall conform to the Colorado Fertilizer <br />Law in labeling and formulation. All seed shall be certified by the supplier to meet the Colorado <br />Seed Law and tagged in accordance. All seeding rates shall be calculated by Pounds Pure Live <br />Seed. Any changes of species due to unavailability or incompatibility to the site shall be <br />proposed at least 48 hours in advance of beginning the work. The Contractor shall furnish the <br />Engineer with seed certifications and analysis, fertilizer analysis, and bag weight thickets prior to <br />placing any seed or fertilizer. <br />B. Sod: The Contractor shall submit a sample of the sod he proposes to furnish. The sample shall <br />serve as the standard for the project. Sod furnished which is not compatible with the standard <br />sample will not be accepted. <br />C. Hydraulic Mulch: Suppliers shall certify that laboratory and field testing of their product has been <br />accomplished and that it meets the material requirements contained herein. Test results shall be <br />made available to the Engineer upon written request. <br />D. Tackifier: Suppliers shall certify that laboratory and field testing of their product has been <br />accomplished and that it meets the material requirements contained herein. Test results shall be <br />made available to the Engineer upon written request. <br />E. Bonded Fiber Matrix: Suppliers shall certify that laboratory and field testing of their product has <br />been accomplished and that it meets the material requirements contained herein.
