DRMS Permit No. M- 1980 -110
112 Amendment Application
Exhibit G — Water Resources
The E -470 Public Highway Authority is aware of the obligation to address the issue of evaporative water
loss from the lake surface per Rule 3.1.6 and comply with state water law.
The Authority acquired the property containing the gravel mining area around 1990/2000. Mineral
extraction had ceased around 1995 or so and since then, the mined area had filled with water forming a
lake.
We have been working for many years to try to sell the property but have not been successful in finding a
buyer. We also investigated the possibility of preparing an augmentation plan but we do not have
sufficient water rights to make that financially viable. Accordingly, in 2013 our Board of Directors
decided that we should proceed to fill the lake. This solution will remove the open water surface and
therefore eliminate the evaporative loss issue.
