occur eight hours per day, up to seven days per week throughout the mining season, which is
generally June through September, or until the project is completed. There will be anywhere
from one to four people on site
Mr. Garrison will be accessing his claims via a non- system, existing two -track off of NFSR 184
for approximately '/;! mile to his claim and mining operation. He will be constructing and
maintaining a gate across the two -track approximately 100 feet off of NFSR 184 to keep the
general public from accessing the site.
DECISION:
To facilitate prospecting on the Golddigger #1 and Golddigger #2 unpatented mining claims, it is
my decision to authorize the following activities for five (5) years, with the opportunity to re-
authorize for a further five (5) years if the POO has not changed, and the analysis proves
sufficient after a review:
Allow the operation of a dozer or similar excavator for prospecting and/or mining; this would
include overburden removal and vein exploration.
Allow the use of a highbanker using a closed system for processing large material.
Allow the installation of hazard fencing, gates and signing around the perimeter of the active
mining area.
The use of a backhoe and dozer for reclamation of mining related disturbances including
baekfilling and caving dig sites, re- contouring, obliteration of non - system roads and distribution
of topsoil.
Allow removal of trees only as necessary to access vein exploration and to clear the existing two -
track for access of equipment and vehicles.
Allow the use of an existing, adjacent non - system road (two - track) for access and parking
vehicles and equipment.
I have determined that no extraordinary circumstances exist and that there is no irreversible or
irretrievable commitment of resources in the surrounding area.
• No federally listed threatened or endangered species or designated habitat, species
proposed for federal listing or proposed critical habitat, or Forest Service sensitive
species will be impacted.
• No floodplains, wetlands, or municipal watersheds will be adversely affected.
• No congressionally designated areas, such as wilderness, wilderness study areas, or
national recreation areas are involved.
• No inventoried roadless areas are involved.
