1.0 SAMPLING PROTOCOLS <br />Environmental Sampling Procedures <br />Sampling Protocols <br />Page 1 -1 <br />Union Milling Company, LLC (UMC) has adopted the following environmental <br />sampling procedures for the Leadville Mill. <br />1.1 DOCUMENT CONTROL <br />Information relevant to field operations must be recorded in various forms, including <br />logbooks, photographs, chain -of- custody records and field sample data sheets. Field <br />Documents include: <br />• Project logbooks; <br />• Field logbooks; <br />• Field sample data sheets; <br />• Chain -of- custody records; <br />• Sample logbooks; and <br />• Photographs, drawings, and annotated maps used during field activities. <br />1.1.1 LOGBOOKS <br />A logbook shall be kept at the project site. The logbooks shall have consecutively <br />numbered pages. The information recorded in these logbooks shall be written in <br />indelible ink. Entries shall be initialed and dated by the author. Corrections to <br />logbook entries shall consist of a single line -out deletion in indelible ink followed by <br />the author's initials and the date. No logbooks shall be destroyed or thrown away, <br />even if they are illegible or contain inaccuracies that require replacement or <br />correction. <br />1.1.2 PHOTOGRAPHS <br />Photographs shall be taken of field activities, when appropriate using a camera -lens <br />system with a perspective similar to the naked eye. Photographs should include a <br />measured scale in the picture, when practical. The following items shall be recorded <br />in the logbook for each photograph taken: <br />• Photograph(s) will be place in logbook, <br />April 2013 <br />
