Maisie Mining Company, LLC.
6289SouffiFilbertCourt
WeWrt Colorado 80121
-I
MAR P t +.
March 25, 2014
DWIM O
MIN100 AND tf
Mr. Michael Cunningham
Department of Natural Resources
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
Re: Notice of Intent to Conduct Prospecting Operations for Hard Rock/Metal Mines
Dear Mr. Cunningham:
Maisie Mining Company, LLC. (Maisie) is submitting for your review FORM 1 and FORM 2
relating to its NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONDUCT PROSPECTING OPERATIONS FOR
HARD ROCK/METAL MINES. In addition, the following are being submitted:
• Application Fee of $86.00;
• Certification that copies of FORM 1 and FORM 2 have been supplied to the appropriate
USFS office;
• Certification of notification to the Board of County Commissioners of Clear Creek
County;
• Copy of the Capital Prize Mines response (dated 03/21/14) to the Division Director's
letter of March 10, 2014.
Capital Prize Mines granted Maisie a mining lease for the purpose of prospecting and developing
gold and other minerals at the existing Capital Prize Mine. The mine has a long history and an
extensive tunnel network. Mining activities ceased in the late 1960's. The main tunnel leading to
the ore body is approximately 3,000 feet long.
Maisie has researched the history of the mine and believes changes in the economic environment
over the last 40 -plus years could make mining economically viable. Maisie intends to clear
blockages in the main tunnel to enable it to conduct prospecting activities and verify the ore body.
There will be no significant underground disturbance and all material from the blockages will
remain in the mine. There will be no surface disturbances. There will be no drill holes, mud pits,
excavations, trenches, adits, shafts, new tunnels, rock dumps, stockpiles, impoundments, and road
construction. Maisie anticipates removing less than 0.5 tons of sample ore.
In the event that assays of the samples support the decision to proceed with mine development
and mining activities, Maisie will apply for the required permits and authorizations. It is highly
unlikely that on -site development and mining activities would begin prior to 2015.
As Capital Prize Mines states in its response to Loretta Pifteda's letter (dated 03/10/14), Maisie's
activities will not interfere with the plans Kent Sterett may have for operating the Capital Prize
phone.
