Lyons Sandstone Quarry Mr. Richard Spots
Slope Stability Analyses mater and Earth Technologies
conservatively applied the full PGA to our pseudostatic analyses and acceptable safety factors
were obtained from the analyses.
The results of the stability analyses are presented on Figures 4 and 5. As shown on Figure 3, a
safety factor of 3.7 was indicated for static conditions. A safety factor of 3.4 was indicated by
the pseudostatic analyses for the design earthquake loading conditions.
3.0 LIMITATIONS
The above opinions are based on a reasonable degree of engineering certainty. This report has
been prepared based upon review of the reference documents, published values for rock strength
data, final proposed slope configuration provided by Water and Earth Technologies, geotechnical
analyses, site visits, and our experience. The results of these analyses are based on published
rock strength values and a simplified geologic cross - section and should be used for permitting
only. At the time of additional excavation or closure a design level slope stability analyses
should be completed. No warranty is made, express, or implied.
March 21, 2014 2 Engineering Analytics, Inc.
