STATE OF COLORADO
DIVISION OF RECLAMATION, MINING AND SAFETY
Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman St., Room 215
CO
D O L O RA D i v s i o H OF
Denver, Colorado 80203 n f
REC
Phone: (303) 866 -3567 MINING
G
FAX: (303) 832 -8106 —&—
SAFETY
February 27, 2014
Dear Mr. Luke,
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) has conducted a cost estimate of the site based
on the worst case scenario presented with PR7 and the information submitted with revised Appendix A. Items 25 to
38 of the Division's first and second adequacy review were in regards to the cost estimate submitted to the Division
with PR7. Several of these items were resolved based on your response to the Division's first adequacy review. The
remaining items were evaluated and the Division's cost estimate was conducted based on the approval of the bond
release applications SL 14 and SL 15 as well as our November 12, 2013 meeting.
Enclosed is the Division's cost estimate. The Division estimated the total bond amount to be $22,910,966.74; this is
$980,799.26 less than the estimate submitted by Trapper Mine. The primary reason for the difference in estimated
cost is due to the tasks associated with topsoiling the affected area.
Items 25 to 38 of the Division's first and second adequacy review are considered resolved at this time. However,
there are still outstanding adequacy items from these reviews that will need to be addressed prior to the Division
issuing a proposed decision for PR7. The decision date for PR7 is April 30, 2014. If you need additional time to
address the Division's concerns, please request an extension of the decision date.
Sincerely,
Jared Ebert
Environmental Protection Specialist
DRMS
Enclosures: 1.)
