The following is a list of the structures that will be installed for mining, and removed during
reclamation:
- Fuel farm (75' x 75' area, bermed with plastic liner)
- Truck scale (20' x 50')
- Mobile office trailer (10' x 40')
- Parking area (11,000 sq. ft. gravel area)
The cost of the removal of these facilities during reclamation is discussed in Exhibit L.
There will be no blasting as part of this operation.
The operator will clearly mark the permit boundary.
The access road will connect the operation to US Highway 50.
4. Topsoil, Overburden HandlinIZ and Waste Fines
Topsoil will be salvaged throughout mining. The expected topsoil thickness is approximately 12
inches. Topsoil stripped in advance of mining will either be stored in the berms or placed directly
on areas that need it for reclamation. Topsoil will also be stripped from the fuel farm, parking
area, and access road prior to construction. This topsoil will be place within the highway berm.
As much as possible, topsoil will be directly placed on backfilled and graded reclamation areas
to minimize operator cost and unreclaimed area.
The size of the topsoil storage is shown in Table D -3. The seed mix used for the berms will be
the same used for reclamation of all rangeland areas. This can be found in Exhibit E.
Tomichi Pit, December 2013 D -6
