The reasons for requesting the extension
are to allow more time to prepare and submit the outstanding adequacy response materials. As described
more fully in our March 10, 2014 letter to you, those materials must include: revised application maps
and engineering evaluations and/or damage agreements for the numerous manmade structures that are
located within 200 feet of the proposed permit boundary. The application is not adequate for approval;
until the Division finds the application adequate, a decision to approve cannot be considered.
The Division's decision date was set for March 13, 2014. The extension request has been approved, and
the decision date for the I I Oc application has been reset to April 14, 2014. Please ensure that the
remaining adequacy response materials are submitted to the Division several days before the decision date
to allow this office sufficient time to review them and, if necessary, provide comment to you.
Two sets of all written materials should be mailed to the Division's Denver office (address in letterhead,
above). For all other questions, please contact me by telephone: 970- 247 -5193, or by email:
bob.oswald@state,co.us.
Sincerely,
?v O - 114-
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
(c: \14 -03 docs \O'Rourke I IOc ExtOI Appr /rco)
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand )unction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
John W.
