(405) 948 -1048 Fax DIVISION OF ^ECLAMATION MINING AND SAFETY Via Certified Mail, Return Receipt Requested 7012 2210 0000 4878 9328 March 10, 2014 Mr. Andrew Archuleta Field Manager San Luis Valley Field Office BLMIUSFS 46525 Highway 114 Saguache, CO 81149 Re: Proposed Plan of Operation near Saguache, CO Dear Mr. Archuleta: Enclosed are copies of Form 1 (Confidential) and Form 2 (Public File) Notice of Intent (NOI) for a prospecting project located on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands in the Boland Canyon area in Section 2, Township 45 North, Range 6 East of the Principle New Mexico Meridian and in the Laughlin Gulch area in Section 34, Township 44 North, Range 6 East of the Principle New Mexico Meridian. We propose to drill on four drill sites as indicated on the attached NOI. Drill site 3 is located on flat surface 200(ft) south of the Laughlin Stock Driveway. Drill site 4 is located on flat surface and 250 (ft) north of the Laughlin Stock Driveway. Proceed from the intersection of Laughlin Gulch Stock Highway and Boland Canyon Road approximately 1,000 feet southerly, and then south - westerly on a jeep trail to the proposed drill sites. (See Photo 1C attached to Form 1 NOI for location of this project). Drill sites 1 and 2 are located on, or just off of, existing jeep trails adjacent to Boland Canyon Road. (See Photo 3B attached to Form 1 NOI for location of this project). We calculate that maximum potential disturbance per site as 0.03 acres, and realistically we anticipate approximately .25 total acres of new disturbance for all drill sites. The normal process is to submit basic project information for the BLM to evaluate. We conclude that we may expedite the process by submitting the details, the exact location of the drilling and how any environmental impacts created by the work would be mitigated in a pro- active way.
