EXHIBIT I - Soils Information
The following soils and vegetation information was obtained from site observations and the basic
soils and vegetation information contained in the Logan County Soil Survey, supplied by
Natural Resources Conservation Service. Excerpts from the book are made part of this
application. The soil on the site is shown on the NRCS map in Exhibit C. Infomation on that
soil is included
A single type of soil is found on the site, a Dix - Eckley complex (5 -25% slopes). The description
in the soils information on pages 28 & 29 is from the SCS publication. The upper 2 -inch layer of
material is a sandy loam. This description is consistent with the soil on the site. Underlying the
topsoil cover is a layer of gravelly cobble that will be mined. In places, the gravel is visible on
the surface of the hillside and is used to determine how deep the deposit can be mined.
