3.3.4.2 Deformation Analysis <br />Yield accelerations computed in previous analyses are expected to be conservative, because <br />tailing have de- saturated and consolidated relative the conditions assumed in the original design. <br />Original design analyses computed an estimated settlement of 1 to 3 feet based on computed <br />yield accelerations. The worst -case yield accelerations are on Failure Surfaces 4 and 5 in <br />Figure 5 (10.6% and 11.3% of g, respectively). These settlements are reasonable for the <br />condition of saturated tailing that existed during active tailing deposition.
