TECHNICAL REVISION 02 <br />Introduction <br />The Atlas Waste pile at the Revenue Mine has been reduced in size and scope in order to avoid <br />disturbing nearby wetlands. This revised waste pile is 206,271 tons in capacity, and 4.35 acres in <br />area (including Sediment Pond 1). An additional 0.30 acres of area is taken up by the Diversion <br />#1B ditch. This leads to the Atlas disturbance area being 4.64 acres. <br />Mining and Reclamation Plans <br />The mining plan for the Revenue Mine is not being fundamentally changed by the reduction in <br />size of the Atlas pile. Mining and processing will continue to take place as described in the <br />approved permit. Once the Revenue waste pile area reaches capacity, tailings will be place on the <br />Atlas Waste pile. This pile will be built in the same sequence of lifts as the Revenue waste pile. <br />The Atlas Waste pile will have a maximum capacity of 206,271 tons. Combined with the <br />Revenue waste pile (333,000 tons) leads to a total waste capacity of 539,271 tons. This is <br />roughly a 50% reduction in the mine's waste capacity. <br />The reduction in waste capacity will reduce the mine's life, under the current mining plan. At the <br />anticipated waste production rate of 95,000 tons a year, the total life of the Revenue Mine is <br />limited to 6.6 years of mining. This life includes startup and shutdown activities.
