1988 = 0. 104 cfs (reservoir did not completely
fill until February 25, 1988)
This year's average flow value, 0.0714 cfs, is 74% below the historic
(1988 -2012) average flow value, 0.2798 cfs. The timing of when flow
values are collected affects these averages. Due to high sediment
levels, this pond was dredged out in 2002. In April 2005, it was noted
that the discharge pipe riser had rusted out. It was replaced in July
2005 with an eight inch plastic pipe set at an elevation approximately
four feet above the elevation of the old dewatering orifice. No flow
occurred after the repair until October 2005. Review of the TDS plot
indicates an increasing trend. 2011 water year's TDS plot indicated a
stable trend, with the peak value occurring in July 2007. The
increasing trends noted this year and last year are due to the drought.
- Surface Water Site SW -S2 -12 (SSB12). This site monitors Bond Creek at
its confluence with Fish Creek. SW -S2 -12 normally monitored in June and
July on a monthly basis, but was also sampled in May 2013. This site
usually dries up in late summer, although NPDES8 upstream flows
continuously. This reduction in flow is due to stream channel
infiltration and evapotranspiration. This year, this site was not
flowing in either June or July (due to the drought) . The TDS plot
indicates a decreasing trend.
- Surface Water Site SW -S2 -11 (SSF11) . This site monitors Fish Creek
upstream of its confluence of Cow Camp Creek. It is required to be
monitored in June and July on a monthly basis, but only if either Sites
10 (Cow Camp Creek) or 12 (Bond Creek) are flowing. However, field
parameters and flow estimates may sometimes be provided voluntarily when
not required. This year, this site was sampled for field and lab
parameters in May and August as part of a special selenium study. As
there was no flow at Sites 10 or 12 in June or July, no lab samples were
collected at Site 11 during those two months, but field parameters were
measured in June. The TDS plot indicates a slightly decreasing trend.
8
