The
proposed activities will utilize existing County and ranch roads for access.
General Information
The Foidel Creek Mine is an area that has existing facilities from current mining activity.
Existing vegetation is predominantly sagebrush, grassland, mountain shrub, mined and
reclaimed mine.
The Twenty Mile Park area has been historically important for greater sage grouse,
Columbian sharp - tailed grouse, elk, mule deer and antelope as well as numerous small
mammals and raptors,
Potential Impacts
Tile majority of the impacts to wildlife from the construction of the proposed corcholes
should be minimal due to the limited amount of acres disturbed and utilizing existing
road for access.
The proposed locations for the coal coreholes are within the production areas of
Columbian Sharp - tailed Grouse. Construction and activity should be conducted outside
of the breeding and brood rearing time period ( March 15 -.tune 30) to minimize potential
impacts.
STATE OF COLORADO
John W.
