Sounds like weather has been a challenge on the
gob piles.
Your report mentioned that a concrete patch will be placed in the roadway at the wash plant exit area. We will
need a minor revision including a reclamation cost estimate for the concrete work. We should be able to turn the
revision around in time for the March 7th longwall move.
agree that your observations of standing water and steep gob on Gob Pile 43 are of concern, and concur with
your suggestions to correct the problems. These issues should be handled as quickly as possible.
Your report also mentioned that coverfill material is being pulled from the stockpile to be mixed into the gob. It is
imperative that BRL maintain adequate cover material in the stockpile to provide the required depth of cover
material on the gob pile. BRL should identify the minimum volume of cover material needed fro reclamation and
mark it in the field so that ground crews remain aware of the limited amount of material available for mixing with
gob. If adequate material is not stockpiled, BRL would have to post additional performance bond for the import of
material and /or permit an additional borrow area.
Please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information on my comments.
Laserfiche filing:
C1996083
02/20/2014
Reports
Waste Pile /Fill Report
DRMS Review of 02/17/2014 Site Inspection Report
Susan L.
