Pecos Street <br />Westminster, CO 80234 <br />Permit No. C- 2010 -089 <br />Acres Disturbed <br />The New Horizon North (NHN) Mine property currently includes two Coal Mine Permits <br />held by Western Fuels Colorado (WFC); New Horizon 1 Permit #C- 1981 -008 and NHN <br />Permit #C- 2010 -089. WFC is currently working with the Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining, and Safety (DRMS) to remove Permit C- 1981 -008 from this area. At this time, <br />all NH1 activities are covered under this Annual Reclamation Report; Permit C -2010- <br />089, Western Fuels- Colorado, LLC, New Horizon North Mine. <br />The New Horizon North (NHN) Mine is bounded by 2600 Rd. on the West, 2650 Rd. on <br />the East, Z Rd. on the North, and AA Rd. on the South. This land is located in Sections <br />25 and 36, Township 47 North, Range 16 West of the New Mexico Principal Meridian, <br />Montrose County, Colorado. Refer to Attachment 2.03.8 -1 of Mining Permit C- 2012 -089 <br />for a more detailed description. The NHN Mine office is located at 27646 W. 5t' Ave. <br />Nucla, CO 81424. This office facility is shared by the NHN mine and the NH2 mine, <br />both owned by WFC. Map 2013 -1 shows the location of the NHN mine in relation to the <br />NH2 mine. <br />Activities on the NHN Permit area in 2013 consisted of completion of initial topsoil <br />stripping, boxcut excavation and stockpiling of associated overburden, and a secondary <br />topsoil stripping campaign in anticipation of the next pit. As of year end, much of the <br />boxcut excavation has been completed with approximately 1.1 million yards of <br />overburden and 239,000 yards of topsoil stockpiled. The overburden stockpile will be left <br />in place until it is needed to re -grade the final pit at the end of the life of the mine. <br />At years end, most of this work has been completed with a total of 101.5 acres of land <br />disturbed. Map 2013 -2 and Map 2013 -3 describe the disturbances within the Permit. <br />Topsoil Salvage <br />Permit Map 2.04.9 -3 outlines topsoil types and thicknesses.
