On February 11, 2014, the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) received your
Technical Revision application TR06 and the required fee for the Gillette Pit, Permit M- 1992 -009,
which is located in Teller County. The revision requested addresses the following item:
Addition of a 20' x 40' I -beam framed maintenance building to be anchored to
2x2x3' concrete piers.
The submittal was called complete for the purpose of filing on February 11, 2014. The decision
deadline for TR06 is March 13, 2014. Please be advised that if you are unable to satisfactorily
address any concerns identified in this review before the decision date, it will be your
responsibility to request an extension of the review period. If there are outstanding issues that
have not been adequately addressed prior to the end of the review period, and no extension has been
requested, the Division will deny this technical revision.
The following comments are based on the Division's review of the Request for Technical Revision
TRO 1:
The DRMS accepts the installation of the proposed maintenance building. However, The
DRMS cannot credit the recycled value of the scrap steel on the building. We are also
required to include indirect costs for reclamation bonding. A DRMS detailed demolition
cost estimate is enclosed. Please review the estimate and if you find it acceptable, provide
the DRMS with a written acceptance. Upon receipt of acceptance from F
Gillette Sand and Gravel, I will recommend approval of TR06.
