The <br />last substitute water supply plan (SWSP) approval for this operation expired on January 31, 2014 <br />and the required fee of $257 for renewal of a gravel pit SWSP was paid on January 13, 2014 <br />(receipt no. 3663191). <br />PLAN OPERATION <br />The gravel operation is located east of Pueblo between Highway 50 and the Arkansas <br />River. The operation consists of several phases as shown in the attached Figure 1. Currently, <br />mining in Phases 1 has been completed and Transit Mix is in the process of reclaiming the area <br />by backfilling the pit. Mining in Phase 2 has also been completed and has been lined with an <br />approved slurry wall per January 9, 2012 correspondence from the Division 2 Assistant <br />Engineer. Mining is now progressing in Phase 7, which began in December 2012, and is <br />currently the main active mining area on the site. Consumptive use of ground water from the <br />operation includes evaporation from up to 21.7 acres of settling /discharge ponds and <br />dewatering ditches (16.5 acres in Phase 1, 0.2 acres In Phase 2, and 5.0 acres in Phase 7), <br />dust control, and water removed with the mining product <br />Well Permit No. 61509 -F corresponds to Phases 1 and 2 and limits that portion of the <br />operation to evaporation from 12 acres of exposed water, water removed from 900,000 tons of <br />material (26.52 acre -feet annually), and dust control (17.76 acre -feet annually).
