Page 6 -1, bottom of first paragraph, "Records and reports provide important, continuous <br />documentation of performance, and are valuable tools." <br />Comments and Recommendations <br />a. Our office completely agrees with this statement and recommends that a monitoring and <br />reporting program be developed between DRMS and Climax that specifically addresses the <br />needs of this project including, but not limited to the following: <br />L List of instruments to be monitored <br />ii. Frequency of monitoring <br />iii. Type of reporting <br />iv. Transmittal of reporting <br />V. Interpretation of monitoring data <br />26. Page 6 -1, second and third paragraphs. The text indicates that all of the piezometers are <br />automated and that the one inclinometer will be automated. <br />Recommendations <br />a. It is recommended that the ability to manually monitor the piezometers and inclinometer be <br />retained. <br />b. It is recommended that the instruments be manually read and periodically checked against <br />the automated data. <br />27. Page 6 -3 <br />Recommendation <br />a. It is recommended that DRMS be provided copies of all monitoring and performance reports <br />generated for 5 Dam. <br />28. Section 6.3, Event Monitoring and `5 Dam Operator Daily Checklist' <br />Recommendation <br />a. It is recommended that the DRMS and Fremont County Emergency Manager be included in <br />any emergency contact lists. <br />Conclusion <br />The comments and recommendations presented herein are based on our review of the completeness, <br />clarity, and technical soundness of the documents submitted by URS. The review by DSB engineers is <br />intended solely to assist DRMS in identifying issues that may require additional consideration or <br />clarification.
