The required fee of $257 for the renewal of this SWSP has
been submitted (receipt no. 3663051). The original SWSP was approved on May 18, 2000 and
it was most recently approved in a letter dated August 15, 2013,
PLAN OPERATION
The Rich Pit is located in the SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 34, Township 20 South,
Range 63 West of the 6th P.M. Martin Marietta Materials ( "MMM ") acquired the site from Lafarge
West Inc. ( "Lafarge ") at the end of 2011. The Rich Pit has been inactive since 2001 and will
remain inactive during this plan year. Ponds created from previous mining activities under this
plan cause stream depletions during the inactive period due to evaporation. This renewal
covers pond evaporation from the Active Pit (16.7 exposed acres) and the Unused Wash Pond
(0 5 acres), as well as the pumping of a sanitary /miscellaneous well. Permit No. 45995 -F (Well
ID 1406466) was issued for the pit for exposure of groundwater, dust suppression, product
retention, and concrete batching. A well, Permit No. 66042 -F (well ID 1405128), is used for
sanitary and miscellaneous purposes.
Description
IDENT No.
Location
Inactive Pit
1406466
NW1 /4 Sec. 2
Active Pit
1406470
SE1 /4 Sec. 34
Old Aggregate Sales Area
1406469
NE1 /4 Sec. 33
Unused Wash Pond
1406011
SE1 /4 Sec. 33
Well Permit No. 66042 -F
1405128
NE1 /4 Sec. 33
Office of the State Engineer
1313 Sherman Street, Suite 818 • Denver, CO 80203 • Phone: 303 -866 -3581 • Fax: 303 -866 -3589
http: / /water.state.co.us
