Sample Pile B; Lift B;
The average pH found in Sample Pile B; Lift B material is 7.64. After charting the pH that was
measured, none of the data points are above or below the approved thresholds. The average EC was
3.71mmho /cm, none of the samples yielded EC values above the 6mmho/cm threshold for Lift B. If the
threshold were to be set at 4mmho/cm, only 17 out of the 90 samples taken would have EC values greater
than 4mmho/cm. The saturation percentage of each of the samples was found to be within the threshold
limits. The SAR was found to be below the threshold limits. The ESP was found to be well below the
threshold of the Lift A material (15 %), there is not a threshold level set for lift B material. The CCE
averaged 7.88% within the stockpile. All of the soil samples were found to be well below the threshold
for CCE. The rock fragments percentage average was .54% throughout the pile, all of the soil samples
were well below the threshold for rock fragments.
Based on the currently approved suitability criteria, Sample Pile B consisting of Lift B material does meet
the suitability criteria approved in the permit. The majority of the pile would meet the suitability
thresholds if they were revised for EC and ESP parameters.
Sample Pile C; Mixed Topsoil
The average pH found in Sample Pile C; Mixed topsoil is 7.5. After charting the pH that was measured,
none of the samples are above or below the approved threshold. The average EC was 4.1 Ommho /cm, 26
out of the 52 samples (50 %) yielded EC values above the 4mmho/cm threshold. The saturation
percentage of each of the samples were found to be within the threshold limits. The SAR was found to be
below the threshold limits. The ESP was found to be well below the threshold. The CCE averaged
10.11 % within the stockpile. Three samples within this pile yielded a CCE percentage above the approved
threshold only by (.82 to 2.21%). There is currently not a rock fragments percentage threshold for the
Lift A or Mixed topsoil material, however the rock fragment levels within this stockpile was well below
the threshold for Lift B materials.
The majority of Sample Pile C consisting of Mixed topsoil material does not meet the suitability criteria
approved in the permit due to half of the samples within the pile having EC values above the threshold.
Only a few samples yielded a CCE percentage above the threshold.
Sample Pile D; Mixed Topsoil
The average pH found in Sample Pile D; Mixed topsoil is 7.6. After charting the pH that was measured,
none of the data points are above or below the approved threshold. The average EC was 4.21mmho /cm,
seven out of nine samples yielded EC values above the 4mmho/cm threshold. The saturation percentage
of each of the sample was found to be within the threshold limits. The SAR was found to be below the
threshold limits. The ESP was found to be well below the threshold. The CCE averaged 11.81% within
the stockpile. One sample within this pile yielded a CCE percentage above the approved threshold, only
by .69 %. There is currently not a rock fragments percentage threshold for the Lift A or Mixed topsoil
material, however the rock fragment levels within this stockpile was well below the threshold for Lift B
materials.
The majority of Sample Pile D consisting of Mixed topsoil material does not meet the suitability criteria
approved in the permit primarily due to the EC levels found within the pile are above the threshold. Only
one sample yielded a CCE percentage above the threshold.
