Hickenlooper
Governor
Mike King
Executive Director
Loretta E. Pineda
Director
I have reviewed Colowyo's responses to my review of your 2012 Annual Hydrology Report.
No further responses from Colowyo are necessary. I look forward to the 2013 AHR (and
other future AHRs) with the improvements that were discussed in this review process. In
particular, I look forward to Colowyo's interpretation of the hydrologic data.
One important aspect of the data interpretation is an analysis of trends (see DRMS Item 2).
Related to the data trend discussions, I would like to address Colowyo's response to DRMS
Item 7. It was not my intent for Colowyo to discontinue reporting all of the information in
the tables in pages 2 -3 to 2 -7, only the trend information that is not backed by the statistical
analysis. I recommend that you continue to include these tables, but trends that are not
defensible with statistics (i.e., relatively low R2 values) should be removed or the word
"increasing" (or "decreasing ") replaced with "uncertain" or something similar.
Let me know if you have any comments and /or questions (ext. 8113, rob.zuber @state.co.us).
Sincerely,
Robert D. Zuber, P.E.
Environmental Protection Specialist
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
