MR. AMICK: You said you hired an
independent survey in 1999.
MR. LEWICKI: That's right.
MR. AMICK: Then 2008 the NRCS did
the soil survey?
MR. LEWICKI: Well, they didn't do
the soil survey. They did a re- evaluation of the
prime farmland.
MR. AMICK: Okay. And they came up
in 2008 with 8.4?
MR. LEWICKI: No. What they said
was, the document that was used to determine the pH
in 1999 had a typo in it. So in other words, they
said that the use of the document was correct. The
document was the Important Colorado Farmland
Inventory, and in that document it said that the pH
couldn't be above 7.4.
MR. AMICK: Okay.
MR. LEWICKI: And in 2008 when they
re- evaluated that, they said that was typo in that
document. The soil survey was done right, and the
conclusion reached was correct, but we now know that
that document is wrong, and we are going to
reclassify the Morgan property as prime farmland.
