WADE: I have no idea how to open
this PowerPoint stuff.
MR. KAMPER: Once Lance has
concluded, I'll have another witness, Mr. Greg
Lewicki, who is a consultant and has been involved
in preparing this permit. Again, been involved in
this project since the '90s.
So once Lance is done, I'd just like
to reserve the balance of my time for Greg's part of
the presentation.
MR. WADE: Sorry for the delay.
Robert Lance Wade, mine manager at the New Horizon
Mine and have been so since June 1992.
As Ms. Talvitie said, New Horizon
Mine has actually been in operation since May 1993.
We've been in coal production more or less
continuously since July 1993.
One of the things that we have taken
pride in, we have over 300 acres of irrigated
pasture under nine side -roll sprinkler systems, been
reclaiming that property, most of it, to irrigated
pasture since we first started back filling in 193,
early '94.
We provide good - paying, year -round
employment for the mine in Tri- State's Nucla station
