ameO <br /> C. All CQA soils testing(both field and laboratory testing)will be the responsibility of CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER, as identified in the Earthworks CQA plan. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for <br /> cooperating with CQA Monitor during all testing activities. CONTRACTOR shall provide <br /> equipment and labor to assist CQA Monitor in sampling, if requested, and shall also provide access <br /> to all areas requiring testing activities. Quality Control testing shall be the responsibility of the <br /> CONTRACTOR. <br /> D. All excavation, backfill, and grading operations shall be carried out under the observation of <br /> MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> E. Any work found unsatisfactory or any work disturbed by subsequent operations before acceptance is <br /> granted shall be corrected by CONTRACTOR,at its sole cost. <br /> PART 2: PRODUCTS <br /> 2.01 MATERIALS: <br /> A. Fill materials will be soils, gravels, or rock fill approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER. The materials shall be free of organic matter, debris, frozen material, and other <br /> deleterious materials,and shall be excavated,as required,as follows: <br /> 1. Structural/Overburden Fill - material as approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER conforming to the following SPECIFICATION: <br /> U.S.Standard Percent Passing <br /> Sieve Size by Dry Weight <br /> 24—inch 100 <br /> No.200 0—25 <br /> Plasticity Index: 30 maximum <br /> 2. Select Structural Fill -well graded granular soil or sound, hard, durable,rockfill excavated <br /> on-site or supplied from off-site mine waste rock with a maximum particle size of 3 inches <br /> as approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> 3. Underdrain Fill - free draining, material approved by MANAGER and CERTIFYING <br /> ENGINEER conforming to the following SPECIFICATION. <br /> U.S.Standard Percent Passing <br /> Sieve Size by Dry Weight <br /> 12-inch 100 <br /> No.200 0-6 <br /> Point load tensile strength: >300 psi <br /> Plasticity Index: 0 <br /> Section 02200 Page 2 of 16 May 9,2012 <br /> Earthworks Revision 1 <br />
