PERMIT #: M -1987 -186
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: February 5, 2014
OBSERVATIONS
This was a routine monitoring inspection conducted at the Peters #2 Pit by Eric Scott of DRMS. Although the
inspection was unscheduled, it was considered practical to conduct at this time due to the remote location of
the site, and the proximity of the DRMS inspector who was conducting inspections at other nearby locations.
The site identification sign was noted at the access point to the site area, and several of the boundary markers
were observed. It was noted that no activity appears to have taken place recently at this site, and the most
recent annual report indicates that no mining has taken place since August 2012, although there is a stockpile
of material remaining that is available for use as needed by the county. Reclamation is also underway on the
south part of the site at this time. DRMS will take this opportunity to remind Weld County that according to
the Mined Land Reclamation Act, reclamation is required to be complete within 5 years of the end of mining
activity.
Although it was difficult to ascertain the condition of the vegetation on the site and the reclaimed areas due to
conditions during this inspection, it appeared that the site was in compliance at the time of the inspection
with no outstanding issues observed.
Inspection Contact Address
Clay Kimmi
Weld County
P.O.
